The Federation of Malaysia was still very young when it was thrown in to a territorial war with Indonesia in 1962.
Action took place on the Malay Penninsula but the main fighting took place on the Island of Borneo where native and British troops, fought for The Federation against the North Kalimantan National Army and the Indonesian Army in an undeclared war.
